In a Nutshell
When love and skill work together, expect a
masterpiece- John Ruskin
First of all, thanks to all of you who gave us words
of support and encouragement after the debut of In a
Nutshell. Your comments, ideas, and constructive
criticism mean a lot to us, and are appreciated
greatly. So, of course, would your contributions, so
put your ideas and experiences down on paper and check
out the submit page of this issue. Recommendations,
reviews, spy trips to places like Bath and Body
Works...or just being moved by the soaping muse...send
it all in, we would welcome your contribution!! It
takes a community to raise a newsletter....and it
would save you from having to read my writing all the
time (SMILE)!
So it is February, the month of red hearts, and roses,
and romantic dinners over candlelight....we know that
the thoughts of all red blooded Soapnuts are turned to
love...but what is love?
The obvious answer is that tingle in your toes love
that you feel for your soul mate, but notice when you
are reading posts to the list how much love comes on
through.
Love for family...Miriam's father...Erika's unborn
baby...Michelle for her children... Steph for her
sweet little naked cat...
Love for where one lives...my love of the mountains
and the simple people around me...Finola and her
beautiful island home...Camille and her lovely yard
and banana trees...MaryB in her Alaskan
retreat...Becky and her descriptions of what is going
on outside her window...
Love for something that one is passionate
about...Camille's artistry...Jackie Turbot and her
work to realize her dream of walking the Appalachian
trail...Ellen and her reminders to us all not to be
afraid to be successful...Denise and her doula
skills...Mary Golden and her horses....
To each one of us, love means a multitude of things,
and I think I am not wrong when I say that it is as
vital to us as breathing. It can fuel our passions,
it can soothe us when we are troubled, it can energize
us and help us through life- the good and the not so
good.
In this issue, Marian will once again give us all the
lowdown on what happened in the lives of our members,
the ups and downs that they shared with us in January. Denise test drives some of the more romantic recipes
in the nook. Miriam opens up a window into her life
for us all. Our herbal profile focuses on an herb
that no soaper should be without...and more! So,
cuddle up with a loved one and enjoy this month's
issue of In a Nutshell!!
