Spring Scentsfavorite soapnut spring and summer fragrancesby Khadijah Lacina
My newest spring scents both come from Lezlee's Simple Soothings--
her Daybreak alone is a great stand alone scent and I blended the Sage &
Citrus with the Cotton Blossom. I
named these: Lazin' in the Sun and Flapping in the Breeze!
:) ------------------------------ I made CP soap last week with 1 T. Lily of the Valley f.o. (from
Starrville Soaps), 1 T. of Daffodil
f.o. (Starrville Soaps) and 1 tsp. Patchouli e.o. (also from Starrville
Soaps). It smells great so far, but still needs to cure some more.
The flashpoint on Lily of the Valley is 200 degrees, but I don't know
what the other 2 are. It smells really "spring-ey". I made an attempt to swirl it with green, but it was getting
too thick, as I was too slow getting it all together. It's goats milk soap, so it's tan in color with green gobby
swirl marks. Looks like
leaves(??) instead of swirls, but it still smells great!
LOL --------------------- My favorite spring and summer scents are berries and fruits.
Oldtimer & Lily's Blackberry Sage is at the very top of the list.
Others on that list include SC's Coconut Lemongrass; I mean who can
resist a good coconut in the summer? BB's
Summer Fling is always wonderful! Now, if you want some blends...one that sells well for me is the
following blend: 3 parts Raspberry fo from MMS My mother's favorite spring fragrance is anything with Jasmine in it...so I made the following blend with her in mind: 3 parts Jasmine from MMS Denise in PA ----------------------------- As far as Spring Scents, while I personally prefer EOs, my customers have
been going wild for Sue K's Green Clover and Aloe and Blackberry Sage. Next
would be Bay Rum and Orange, Lavender EO
and then Lilac and Lily -------------------------- Here are some of my favorite spring and summer scents: BB Summer fling (I call it spring fling though) BB Energy MMS Berries and Twigs Oldtimer and Lily Blackberry Sage some more energy ( I love that one soooo much) Orange Ginger (1 1/2 parts 5x orange, 1part ginger eo) Erika ------------------------------- My new love is a blend of lavender, pink grapefruit and patchouli, in a
10:10:2 ratio. You might think
that this could be reduced to a 5:5:1 ratio, but it's really a mixture of
two blends: lavender and patchouli at 10:1 and pink grapefruit and
patchouli at 10:1 as well. So, does
that really translate to 5:5:1? I
think it should but, alchemy and fragrance blending being what they are, maybe
not. Anyhow, I stumbled upon this
a bit by accident, by adding patchouli to lavender and pink grapefruit
(separately) to make them smell more of themselves, then mixing lotion
leftovers. I keep smelling my
hands whenever I use my lotion! I
must look like a damsel in distress to the casual observer, however a true Soapnut
would know what I was doing. Constance ------------------------------------- Sweet Magnolia !!! Marian ------------------------ 4 parts lavender 1 part Vanilla 2 parts Ylang-Ylang Bug repellant: Anonymous |
