I have had dry, sensitive skin all of my life, and after
being down to one, very hard-to-find commercial syndet bar, I decided to
research making soap on my own. The
rest is history - I was hooked after my first batch! The whole process just fascinated me (and still does).
I’ve described it to other soapers as having a Tom Hanks’ moment of
beating your chest while proudly gazing at your newest soap batch and
exclaiming, “Look what I have created!”
J
Initially, my husband designed wooden soap molds for me to
fit the size batches I was making. We
had several soapers request him to build molds for them also, and our business
was born. We began to carry other
supplies to supplement the molds so that we could offer “one stop shopping”
and save our customers money on shipping charges. Our company continues to grow with the soapmaking
community, but our core values and dedication to our customers remains the same:
honest, reliable service with personal attention to every order.
We believe in serving our customers as we would like to be served. We understand the needs of soapmakers because we are
soapmakers ourselves. We ship daily Monday through Friday, and try to be as
flexible as possible with shipping and payment options to make our customers’
shopping experience quick and easy. Our
regular customers know we always include a little something extra with each
order as a “thank you”.
My personal favorite soap is our unscented Oatmeal Milk and
Honey, and this also our best selling soap.
Our supply business has grown to the point that I don’t have as much
time to dedicate to my own actual soapmaking as I once did, but I still enjoy
playing the mad scientist and creating new batches. My favorite method is CPHP because I like having usable soap
immediately. J Our overall best sellers are our wooden soap molds,
oil-based soap dyes, fixed base and emollient oils, and premium fragrance oils.
Our company is successful only with the help and support of
my husband and son (with our pampered cat, Prissy, supervising).
We have truly been blessed beyond anything we could have ever imagined,
and are continually thankful. When not working on orders, I enjoy relaxing and spending
time with my family and church family, cooking, reading, gardening, crocheting,
and fishing. Southern Belle’s Elbow Grease Recipe3oz refined shea butter Weigh ingredients in a glass measuring cup, then melt them in the microwave until liquid (be careful not to overheat – use oven mitts to remove from microwave). Add FO or EO if desired, and mix well. Pour into tins or low profile jars. Super for dry elbows or feet. Use sparingly and massage into skin well. This is softer than a lotion bar, but firmer than most salves. Makes approximately 8 ounces. |
