Nuts in the News
May

May Day…May Day…this is an emergency!  Hah, just goofing around, but we all seem to be MIA this month.  All the nuts must be busy outdoors.  Saw a quote this month that cracked me up;  “a clean house is a sign of a broken computer ~ Judy Parker”  So either the computers are ALL broke, or we have spring fever!

Speaking of spring…are we drying out yet?  Many of us got rain, and lots of it, this month.  Becky and Vickie are two nuts I know that had ocean floor gardens from the amount that came down.  We had plenty here too in Idaho and I hope California got some too, but I think they are still pretty dry!  Jessica hasn’t had rain down there in Florida for a month... didn’t know Florida could do that :o)

So who’s birthday was it this month?  Anniversary?  Judy and DH celebrated theirs.  Bonnie had a birthday as did Veronica…and happy days.. Veronica is recovering!

Families on the move?  Steph and the Major found a house in TX; what will she do with all that space?  Judy is all moved in…even if she is missing a working dishwasher <gasp>!  Michelle single handedly prepped her home for sale, survived (and I am not making light of this) a carbon monoxide scare, and SOLD their home.  Now Doris isn’t moving, but her kids are having their home fixed up and are living with her…and she is surviving quite nicely, although we don’t see much of her lately!

Kathy and Donna are keeping up with the weight training and dropping dress sizes all around, which is better that dropping dresses all around!  Way to go girls!!  Donna’s DH is on a diet too, although his was certainly not intentional!  That is what happens when you try to kiss a van and it slaps you smack in the face for your efforts!  Seriously though a broken jaw is no laughing matter!  We hope he mends quickly!

Debbie in OH is remodeling some of her home.  A home that is in an area that just sounds lovely.  She’s got deer, raccoons…you name it, she seems to have it there.   As long as they don’t eat too much of your garden, they are so fun to watch!  Oh, and not to forget….she’s finished her nursing assistant class!

Say hello to Vicki, she rejoined our wee group this month, as well as our new member Susan.  Welcome ladies!

Congrats on business for both Erika and Jessica… they scored some very nice sales this month!  And without those sales, many of us would be floating in soap…and it wouldn’t be only the mice that would be snacking on the stuff!

Fun times!  Denise, Lisa, Doris and Frances all got together this month for a girls weekend.  How fun is that!

MIA nuts?  Frances has been busy put popped in to say “HI”, as did Jackie T

Shows and farmers markets are starting up…. although slowly.  Pam in CO started out with 37-degree weather but still did quite well.  Erika and Frances had shows too, but hazards abounded….  Now, all the bad market/show vibes are out of the way, you hear?!  Duane held down the fort, while DW went away for the weekend to sell soap in Oregon.  Do you know, that is the first time I have had an occasion to use “DW” instead of “DH”!

Linda completed her first batch of soap!! Hurray!

Marsha’s DH got to come home on leave for a couple weeks; we sure hope they had a great reunion!  Sue’s DH is away from home with a new job, while Sue stays home and manages the store until it sells.  We hope it sells quickly!

Sandra and Angela regaled us with hints and tips on reenactment soaping for upcoming historical events.  I for one and SO addicted to my scales that I couldn’t imagine measuring ashes to make soap!  Have fun and tell us all about it later!

Many nuts are away, too, with very ill family members; please keep them in your thoughts and send them a little good will!!
