Nuts in the News
April

April showers bring May flowers…..unless you live where many of us do and then it’s snow and sleet. Then, some of us… ahem Peg… almost got washed away in the bounty of rain that fell.   We got flowers though!

So what have we been up to?  Spring fever… as we can see by how little we talked this month…

What we did talk about was varied as usual.  My husband is such a man…he asked how we could start HERE and end up THERE in a conversation.  Actually he knows, it’s just a woman’s mind races so fast it boggles his, hee hee hee!  We went from the price of strawberries in St. Lucia, to “Whatcha Reading” and some great recommendations… to Krispy Kreme donuts…. to toxic friendships and some very good advice and opinions there too!  Oh, almost forgot the belly button oil!  Are we versatile or what!

Denise was busy between visiting with a good friend that came all the way over from New Zealand, to drooling over little red shoes at the Prince concert.  They are off a little later on to see Blink 182..what a mom!

Becky has baby bunnies and Camille’s got baby mice.  Pam’s got baby birds.

The baby humans are popping out all over too!  Anne C. has a new little “non-bald” grandbaby, and so does Pam.. don’t know if her grandbaby has hair though!   Erika is getting close.  We hope Monica and Christa are healthy and coming right along too!

Babies coming in, and babies moving out…  Duane and Sue shared the bittersweet trials of raising your children well, and seeing them step forward towards their own destinies.  I look at my kids, still well into school and think, wow, they can’t be this old already, I still remember being pregnant!!  Denise’s Billy just registered for high school and soon, all of them will be home for summer!

I only caught two birthdays…Jessica from Seattle, and Shannon…Happy Birthday!

Travels?  Frances went to her HS reunion,  List mod Jessica and daughter went to visit her sister, Michelle and family went all the way down south to Disneyland,  Joey spent a week with family.

We had a couple soap conventions this month.  Joey made it to the Ohio-Kentichiana meet,  Donna S. went to one in Indiana, Donna from Puerto Rico went to the PA meet and got to see Frances and Sharon.  Louisiana has a quad state meet this month, but I haven’t heard any reports on it yet.    There’s another meet, coming up in July in Texas.  I have yet to see one near me!!  Bummer!

This nice weather is bringing on the craft shows.  Erika, Frances and Gini have all had shows so far, with Frances planning to be doing this every week until early winter.  I know my farmers market starts in a month… and I’M NOT READY!!! LOL!  Story of my life :o)

Julie D, Steph and Khadijah are moving…or moved.  Steph if going south, Julie up north and I’m not sure which direction Khadijah went, but it was fast and furious and we are very glad she is safe and sound….and in possession of a tub AND hot water.  What’s a Soapnut to do without a tub?  SO…we ALL have tubs now?  No excuses to not use our hoarded swap goodies.

Speaking of swaps, the FOF swap is underway, the SSSS is coming soon and there was a great resurgence of the almighty shampoo bar after Jessica’s hair care swap…I even made up a batch.  Too bad the darn things take so dang long to become gold!

How about our MIA nuts?  Well, not one, but both Mary’s popped in..and get this..they both were playing in the lotion and they both were just getting grief back!  I hate it when that happens LOL!!  Celeste gave us an update on life via Becky and what a hectic time she is having!  I hope everyone is moved and WELL now!  Peg has to be getting close to finals and then she is taking the summer off, doing some camping with her son.  Haven’t seen Jackie for an age and she’s a moderator too!

New things being played with?  Well, Doris JUST “discovered” Monoi oil (and what a pretty smelling oil it is!)  Debbie finally got here liquid soap made..whoops, that thud was me…oh the shock of it all.  Juuuuuust kidding DebbieJeann is coming right along with CP soap and doing a great job with those blind swirls.  Those are so fun…kinda like Cracker Jacks…a surprise in every box!

So who lead us astray THIS month?  It’s all Linda’s fault.  Linda flooded eBay when she told us about these great priced molds and so far, folks are liking them!

What else is going on?  Well, Sue in Tx had a month of Mondays but found out what great friends she has as they rallied to her cause and get this..her stuff is being solicited by a spa…Yipee!!  Deb has a nice write-up in the paper, and Camille has one of her doll creations in a magazine.  Finola is going gangbusters in her new teaching position and Bobbi has taken up belly dancing.  That belly dancing stuff is great fun, AND great exercise!

Our families?  Well, good news first…Pam’s brother does NOT have cancer, YEAH!  Her dog “No-No” is doing his part to rid the world of female physical misrepresentation…eating one Barbie doll at a time!  Glad No-No’s okay PamKathy’s nephew is heading to Boston College and we hear that Rick is still progressing forward after his illness.  Jen P’s husband has a chance at a job closer to home, we hope that what is to be, comes to be.  Marsha and Camille still have family overseas in the military, and Julie’s DH’s job in the military is keeping them apart for the summer.  Keep them in your thoughts folks!

Last but not least…take life’s lessons as they come.  This month, the one that struck me as funny but what a great opportunity in reality, was the purchase of Camille’s new SUV.  Taking school to the showroom floor, I can only imagine the salesman’s thoughts as Camille and all four girls descended upon the dealership, facts and figures in hand.  Kinda makes me think of Miss Clavel and Madeline….the 12 little girls in two straight lines.

Well, that’s all I remember folks!
